We asked Buffer’s Senior Brand and Community Manager what’s in her tabs right now.

Open Tabs is a new series under The Weekly Scroll where we peek into what a creator or social media practitioner has open on their browser, saved in their bookmarks, and stuck in their head right now. Each issue, someone new shows us what they’re paying attention to.

Sabreen Haziq is a Senior Brand and Community Manager at Buffer. She lives at the intersection of brand strategy and the creator economy. By day, she leads brand activations and community at Buffer. By night, she’s building her own audience across YouTube, Instagram, and beyond.

So, what’s in your tabs?

Definitely YouTube!

On a personal note, this is the first time I’m taking YouTube seriously, and the performance payout has been incredible. I’m able to say so much more in a long-form video that isn’t always possible on Instagram (my first love), and with YouTube introducing a Community space, I can talk to my subscribers more intimately. It’s been very motivating personally, and it feels like I’m setting the stage for a place I can meaningfully drive traffic to from other platforms.

What I didn’t expect was the numbers — my first video pulled in over 15,600 views on a brand new channel. In my heart, I know it’s because of the amount of work I’ve put in from the storytelling perspective. I have to be honest, though; scripting takes me hours because I agitate a problem, tell a story, share my learnings, and then give tips to my viewers. Thankfully, it’s working!

The biggest challenge has been scripting in an engaging way, so I’m not drowning my viewers in too much information. I have to make information flow well and in an intimate enough setting for people to stay engaged.

I’m being intentional about investing in YouTube because I know there’s a real monetization possibility, and that makes me feel like there’s even more reason to pour into that cup. Filming myself more has also opened another door of imagination for lighting, composition, and brand identity experiments.

I’ve been obsessed with the creator Chloe Shih and her video production style. She is super creative in how she approaches hooks and transitions, and creates very sticky moments to pull viewers in. It’s a form of art! ✨

A new Instagram update

I’m also loving the new update by Instagram that lets you rearrange carousel slides after the post is already live on Instagram. What a relief?!!

AI automations to reduce busywork

There’s a lot happening in the world of AI right now! It’s like a playground with all sorts of new swings, and everyone wants to try a new ride every day. But a crowded playground can get overstimulating fast, and that takes the joy out of experiencing new things.

So I’ve made a deliberate choice: focus on solving real problems that reduce my everyday busywork. Not everything I build will have immediate practical value, and that’s okay. A lot of that early energy is just adrenaline toward becoming an AI native.

What I’m also pushing myself toward is going beyond using AI as a creative partner, and into using it as a workflow builder, so I can execute on creative ideas at scale. Now I’ve built my own little playground now, and I’m having so much fun being a builder!
